Never heard of this company. Found it. I would steer clear of anything 8x8 that is class complaint under windows, the windows midi driver has some serious short comings.. I'm also looking into 8x8 midi boxes as my 2 Midex8s aren't going to be supported anymore. I don't know much about what goes on behind the scenes, but I do understand the basics of midi.
