Windows 2000 server virtualbox

You could try the Disk2VHD tool from MS, its nothing fancy and wont prep it to be used in a VM but it will convert the disk into a format almost all VM's can understand or at least convert.

Recently i made a P2V backup from a critical machine here. This machine runs Windows pro SP4 not server. So i started a new export of the physical machine but then into a vmware workstation image.

In this workstation setup i got the virtual machine running and all was ok so i shut it down and did a conversion from the workstation image to the esxi free server that i have running and now i got a virtual backup which is meant to replace the physical machine in time.

This is the text in the vmware converter when i select the option to convert a third party image:. When you want to use virtual box i believe there is an import function in virtualbox for that Best method is to download the cold clone iso from vmware free and boot to CD.. This will copy to virtual without fail, I have had to run this method for PC which had shadow copy borked or didnt have it period I used the vmware standalone converter to convert an old failing win server to a virtual server.

It does this online without interruption of service if you check the right boxes. I did run into a problem with a 0x7e boot error iirc. To fix this i had to change the driver on the physical server and do some registry hack so that vmware would use the correct driver during the conversion. Bus logic or LSI i cannot remember which one was incorrect at the moment.

To continue this discussion, please ask a new question. Code: Select all ethernet0. I don't remember what it was called but it fixed my networking issue. However now I have another problem that either wasn't there before, or I just never noticed. There is no audio installed on the VM. VMware tools is installed and running. Any ideas appreciated.

Code: Select all sound. All the outputs in mmsys. However they were installed after VMware tools' initial install. Does it need to be specifically installed first?
